In lay on lay
The terms inlay and On lay have different meanings in different fields. In the medical field, especially in restorative dentistry, inlay refers to a restoration that is embedded inside the tooth and is used to rebuild the tooth according to the missing area, filling in wherever it is missing. This type of restoration requires a mold to be taken and sent to a factory for fabrication, and is more precise, harder and more aesthetically pleasing than resin fillings, but is more expensive and has more follow-up appointments. On lay refers to an inlay that covers all the cusps of the tooth, and is especially suited for restoring back teeth that have too large of a crown loss and are not suitable for full-crown restorations. The main difference with inlay is that a high inlay not only restores the form and function of the tooth, but also protects the dental tissues below the restoration and avoids the occurrence of tooth fracture after restoration.
